Following your dreams changes everything

“Isn’t it time for you to settle down? Don’t you want kinds? When are you getting married? This job is not meant for you. Are you sure you’re going to wear that?”

These are some of many questions that men never have to hear, but women almost do every day. Why is it always related to marriage and kids when it comes to women? Our society needs to understand that the role of a woman is far beyond getting married or starting a family. Instead, women should have the basic right of pursuing their dreams and finding out their passion in life.

“I realized my capabilities and truly believed in myself, and my life is very different now” said Noor, an ambitious young lady who followed her dreams and didn’t settle for what society expected from her. Noor always had the dream of becoming an international swimmer, but as she got older, everyone expected her to quit swimming and focus on her education and starting a family. All this challenged her to follow her dreams and didn’t stop her from achieving her goals, she became determined to balance between everything in her life to prove to everyone that women can do anything. Now, she has shelves full of gold trophies and medals, travelled the world contributing in international championships and has no intention of stopping her achievements anytime soon.

There are much more successful stories like Noor’s, but there are still women out there who need to be empowered and their voice needs to be heard. Women must be addressed as normal human beings not just tools to maintain race.
